The Jazz Gallery Presents: Darcy James Argue's Secret Society

After rehearsing with his band Secret Society earlier this week, composer/ringleader Darcy James Argue had only this to say:

This weekend, Secret Society returns to The Jazz Gallery for their first live performance in over two years. A longtime Gallery presence (the track “Obsidian Flow” off their first album was commissioned by the Gallery in 2008), the band will play a mix of old and new favorites across four sets.

To whet your appetite, check out Secret Society performing music from their 2016 album Real Enemies for NPR’s Jazz Night in America, below.

Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society plays The Jazz Gallery on Friday, March 11, and Saturday, March 12, 2022. The group is under the direction of Mr. Argue and features Alejandro Aviles, Rob Wilkerson, Sam Sadigursky, Tom Christensen, and Carl Maraghi on reeds; Mike Fahie, Jacob Garchik, Gina Benalcazar, and Jeff Nelson on trombones; Seneca Black, Fareed Simpson, Matt Holman, Chloe Rowlands, and David Smith on trumpets; Sebastian Noelle on guitar; Adam Birnbaum on piano; Matt Clohesy on bass; and Jon Wikan on drums.
