The Jazz Gallery Presents: Hannah Marks Quartet

This week, bassist Hannah Marks returns to The Jazz Gallery stage with her working quartet. The ensemble offers a distinct take on the acoustic quartet format, drawing inspiration from the ensembles of Geri Allen, Branford Marsalis, Paul Motian, and Keith Jarrett. In this group, unpredictable u-turns hang quite comfortably alongside memorable tunes, like in Marks’s composition “Song for M@”—dedicated to the irrepressible drummer Matt Wilson—below.

The Hannah Marks Quartet plays The Jazz Gallery on Thursday, April 20, 2023. The group features Ms. Marks on bass, Nathan Reising on alto saxophone, Lex Korten on piano, and Steven Crammer on drums. Sets are at 7:30 and 9:30 P.M. E.D.T. $20 general admission (FREE for members), $30 reserved cabaret seating ($20 for members), $20 livestream access (FREE for members) for each set.
