The Jazz Gallery Presents: Peter Evans & Elias Stemeseder

Trumpeter Peter Evans and pianist Elias Stemeseder frequently cross paths, both literally and metaphorically. They both hover through experimental improvisation scenes in New York and Europe, and are drawn to expansive sound palettes. In 2016, Evans and Stemeseder were paired together for a spontaneous duo set at the Südtirol Jazz Festival, yielding musical sparks that demanded further collaboration.

Recently, Evans-Stemeseder duo performances have become more frequent, and they will take The Jazz Gallery stage on Thursday, April 28 for two sets. While Evans has two recordings set for release later this year (including a followup to his acclaimed Being and Becoming), Stemeseder just released his first album as a leader, Piano Solo (Intakt).

The myriad moods and uncanny sounds that Stemeseder unearths here is just a taste of what could happen when Peter Evans joins on the Gallery stage.
