The Jazz Gallery Presents: JK Kim

It’s drummer JK Kim’s birthday this week, and to help celebrate, he convenes a quintet of like-minded peers for a Saturday set at The Jazz Gallery. In recent months, Kim has been a sought-after collaborator, playing with Aaron Parks’s Little Big in Europe, spending a week with Dayna Stephens at The Village Vanguard, and backing up BTS’s RM on the road:

As a leader, Kim likes to draw from the full range of his musical world, merging neon textures, unpredictable grooves, and heroic soloing.

The JK Kim Quintet plays The Jazz Gallery on Saturday, July 22, 2023. The group features Mr. Kim on drums, Milena Casado on trumpet, Daniele Germani on alto saxophone, Luke Marantz on keyboards, and Simon Jermyn on bass. One sets at 7:30 P.M.
